Winery Costers del Priorat DOQ Priorat Grapes: Grenache and Samsó (Carignan) Red wine, aged Alcohol: 14.5% vol. Elaboration: Made from a selection of Grenache and Carignan grapes from centenary vineyards that grow on the slopes of the estates. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels and 6 more months of rest in the bottle. Tasting notes: Aromas of ripe fruits, spicy, mineral with slight notes of rosemary and thyme. With great structure and concentration, aromas of black fruit jam and toasted notes, round and soft tannins in a long and pleasant finish. Notes: Optimal consumption over the next 5–6 years. THE WINERY Costers del Priorat is located in a mountainous environment near the town of Bellmunt de Priorat, within the Priorat Denomination of Origin. The winery has one of the best estates in the area, 20 hectares planted with old Grenache and Carignan vines aged between 40 and 100 years, where grapes are selected for the production of the winery's best wines; the estate has recently been expanded with the planting of new Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. The vines are planted on very small terraces on “licorella” slate soils, with very low yield and where the work in the vineyards is practically manual.
